Seasonal Boat Launch Attendant

Fee collection and overall maintenance of Twp. Boat Launch.  Fri., Sat., Sun. and Holidays.  Up to 25 hours per week. Wage:  $15.00/hr.  Submit applications/resumes to Bangor Twp. Supervisor, 180 State Park Dr., Bay City MI  48706 no later than 4:00 p.m. April 29, 2024.  Must be able to work May -Sept.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Boat Launch Attendant under direction of the Township Supervisor and the Maintenance Supervisor, performs overall day to day operations including but not limited to the selling of passes, monitoring daily activity at the property, issuing permits/passes, accepting payments, making change, reporting sales and making daily deposits. Attendant is responsible for cleaning, sanitation and routine maintenance work for all Boat Launch facilities.

GENERAL DUTIES:

1. Must have basic math skills and be able to make appropriate change for customers. Will also be responsible to record daily sales at the boat launch.

2. Must be able to operate and maintain lawn care equipment. Mow and trim lawn and all landscape. Must use proper techniques and have working knowledge in operating and maintaining all equipment and monitor proper liquid levels in order to operate machinery in a safe manor.

3. Clean and disinfect restrooms and their fixtures daily. Keep restrooms supplied with soap and towels to maintain cleanliness of the public restrooms and Township property. Must have working knowledge and safe handling procedures for all cleaning supplies.

4. Must keep inventory of cleaning products and supplies used and inform Maintenance Supervisor when products are needed.

5. Maintain attendant building by keeping it secure, clean and orderly at all times.

6. Clean docks and ensure that the docks are safe for public use. Any and all safety issues must be immediately reported to the Maintenance Supervisor or Township Supervisor.

7. Pickup and maintain all loose trash throughout boat launch area. Empty all trashcans in attendant building, restrooms and outdoor receptacles. All trash is to be stored in assigned area. Physically able to lift 50 pounds.

8. Perform a variety of other related duties as assigned.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

Education – High School graduate or equivalent

Paid-On-Call Firefighter

Bangor Township Fire Department is accepting applications for paid-on-call (POC) firefighters. POC firefighters assist the full-time staff in meeting the community’s ever-growing emergency service needs. No experience is required to apply, but the hiring process includes written, oral, and physical ability testing.

Minimum applicant requirements:

  1. US citizen
  2. Minimum age of 18
  3. Valid Michigan driver’s license
  4. High school diploma or equivalent
  5. Reside in Bangor Township or within 5 miles of a fire station.

Applications will be considered for future elections. Rate of pay is $110 for a full day. (Partial day can be considered). Certification training is provided to successful applicants.
